‘Light up your Cities’

ethical partnership has been a consultant helping the European Union identify the way that cities can use public lighting to help local businesses prosper, help improve public transport, whilst reducing both light pollution and carbon emissions! Senior partner at ethical partnership Allen Creedy said “This project demonstrates how local lighting partnerships between local shopkeepers, businesses, restaurants and city councils can improve lighting in commercial areas so that trade and turnover increases, the fear of crime is reduced and more tourists are attracted” Allen helped to coach the participating 11 cities in identifying their strengths and weaknesses and in developing their new public lighting strategies. Allen has taken the learning from the 11 cities and has co authored the forthcoming EU guide to public lighting strategies – which will be presented at the forthcoming ‘Light up your Cities’ symposium – this takes place on Thursday the 25th of October in  Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Allen will be chairing the symposium and is pleased to extend an invitation to friends, colleagues and associates to attend. You can book here

The 11 cities together with  the international urban lighting network LUCI  are now ready to share their innovations, insights and dramatic new approaches to public lighting for cities (and towns). And if you miss it….. you will be forever in the dark!
