New community owned solar farm

We have just submitted a planning application on behalf of ‘Sustainable Charlbury’ for planning permission for a photovoltaic installation (solar farm) on agricultural land south of Charlbury in Oxfordshire. it will be both community-run and community-owned.

The planned physical extent of the farm is currently estimated at 4.3MW. However with the rapid innovation in technology the potential generation may well exceed this current estimate. All of the operating surplus will be reinvested into local low carbon, landscape restoration and new public access projects. The application is accompanied by heritage, biodiversity, landscape, and flood risk assessments. The equity to fund the scheme will be raised through a share offer. This will be administered on an ethical crowd-funding platform. On offer will be £1 shares, with a minimum investment of £250 and maximum investment of £100,000. Contact us for more information.
