A ‘welcome boost’ to County Durham’s tourism economy

We are pleased to announce that our application for a rural tourism development was approved unanimously at Durham County Council’s planning committee this afternoon.

The scheme will deliver 10 holiday lodges located in a tranquil woodland setting, to the west of Wingate.

Members of the committee welcomed the development and said it would

boost the tourism offer in County Durham and encourage visitors to stay in the County

Planning officers were confident that the scheme “would contribute to improving and expanding the amount and range of visitor accommodation within the County, and specifically within close proximity to the Durham Heritage Coast, as well as providing a general boost to the local economy in terms of spending.”

Both planning officers and members of the committee agreed that the application should be approved.
