“Finance for Energy Efficiency”

The most economically and environmentally effective response to austerity and the recession we are experiencing is to invest in energy efficiency. Yes – invest. Here in the UK, like most other countries we are subsidising fossil fuels in the generation of electricity – perhaps we should stopping subsidies for fossil fuel consumptionand starting subsidies for energy efficiency. Some radical thinking now seems to be coming out from the reps from the World Bank, EU and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development at European Sustainable Energy Week in Brussels. Some pretty concrete evidecne demonstrating that rates or return for investment in energy efficiency are generally 15-30%!

We know what technologies are out there and what works, insulating for our homes and buildings will deliver jobs, improve the health of residents and start to slow down our alarming growth in carbon emissions. The investments will repay not only the loan but save significant money in the long term. And you may not believe it – whether you are a business, an NGO or a council there are banks out there that will provide funds for your investment. – want to know more? contact us…..
