Business Development Manager (Part-time)

Salary: £40,000 pro rata

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

We are a family-led, values-driven Chartered Planning Consultancy, with a team of planning, environmental and sustainability consultants who strive to deliver schemes which deliver economic, social, and environmental benefits and  outcomes, and which also meet the needs of our clients.

Established in 2000, Our team includes chartered planners, designers, landscape architects, ecologists, and other professionals who together deliver a wide range of commissions across the UK.

We are an inclusive and approachable team of motivated individuals with a loyal client base including blue chip UK public companies, local companies, voluntary organisations and private individuals across the Infrastructure, Heritage, Energy, Commercial, Residential and Arts sectors.

The Role:

The Business Development Manager will play a key role in identifying and winning new business nationwide.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Generating increased turnover from new clients and business (including within focus the North East), there is an expectation that some of this new business will be generated from your own business leads/contacts
  • Drafting a programme of proposed BD activities including setting targets and KPI’s
  • Reporting against the BD programme, targets and KPI’s
  • Delivering and leading the BD programme, including all communications and negotiations
  • Working with the board, leadership team and staff on all BD matters as required
  • Managing a number of existing and new business accounts
  • Attending conferences and networking events which form part of the BD programme and support the needs of the business

The successful candidate will have:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a business development role
  • Knowledge and or experience of the planning/environmental/sustainability sector
  • Experience of B2B sales/marketing/promotion
  • A demonstrable track record of securing new business and increasing turnover
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Drive, motivation and an attention to detail
  • References and evidence of their qualities and abilities
