Cross House Cottage

  • Location: Wallsend, North Tyneside

Ethical Partnership acted as the client’s planning agent and designer to secure full planning consent for the residential development. The derelict site offered an opportunity for the creation of a distinctive residential development set within the Wallsend Conservation Area. Detailed appraisals were undertaken for the design to determine how the detailed treatment is appropriate for the conservation area managed through the planning polices and local guidance.

The contemporary development, extension and refurbishment proposals brings back to life Cross House Cottage and adjacent Coal Yard which suffered fire damage a number of years ago. The consideration of the relationship between the development on site, layout, scale mass and materials creates a successful place.
